Root Verizon Galaxy S5

Root Verizon Galaxy S5

The root has been planted and the company will be known as 'Root' for now. I would like to make it clear that this is our first report of a rooted device on this site, so if you have any questions please contact me or drop us an email.

Introduction

Before we can talk about what to try next let's see how things went in my last article. To keep the read as short and as quick as possible I'll break down each part in the table below.

I'll also introduce two other devices that were mentioned in previous articles.

Note: While this was just one report we cannot guarantee future results (I do not do any research and only post my opinions). Also if you want to see more I encourage you to look at our other reports. Thanks.

For more details see my previous articles. More specifically go to:

  • The Samsung Galaxy Note 10

Samsung's newest foldable phone The Galaxy Z Fold 2 There are many other things that we can add, but let's leave them out for now and for now focus on the main points. The new carrier is called "Root" in the UK and its primary aim is to offer customers affordable prices while offering the same great service they get from their existing provider. And what better way to do that than by launching a brand new flagship operating system?

So how did we arrive here? Well, there are several things that contributed to this. In fact, I wanted to write about all of them and then realized that most of those posts can no longer be found here. So I decided to focus only on the root device root.co.uk, which is still under construction and is likely to launch in early 2021.

The roots (Root) app

Root: The New Carrier

Root, the new carrier for people that hate their current carriers, offers three different network types that are currently only available in England, Wales, and Scotland. These are:

Three-of-a-kind Broadband, including 4G and LTE

Three-of-a-kind Hotspot for everything from working out in the gym to streaming content to your TV

Three-of-a-kind Mobile hotspot and home broadband for everything else

Root's mobile plan, starting at £7.99 per month, comes with unlimited data per day, plus 50GB of 4G LTE and 200GB of 3G. It does however come without access to Amazon Prime Video, which means a limit of six hours of video content streaming.

Root provides lots of features to help you manage your internet connection and monitor your overall connections. With Root's Control Center you can set up limits on how much you can transfer data and watch Netflix with your friends. You can also control when your data is deleted by connecting up to 15 different routers together using a dedicated button. This allows you to have a separate router so you don't see anything happening on your main setup. By default, Root has two servers for monitoring. One manages your connected devices by using the Alexa voice command, and another does regular checkups. Other apps include social media management, web browsing, gaming and even playing games across multiple channels.

Root has also created a full interface for controlling your WiFi (Wi-Fi Shield) so you can turn off your modem. All settings can be accessed from the App Store so users don't need to install this separately. We'll be taking a deeper look after the firmware update is released later this year. Until then though the App is available to download freely as long as you're signed into Root's website.

Let's dig in! I have taken some screenshots below but I'll show you exactly what I mean.

Now that we've gone over the hardware all the way to the software we can start looking at Root's plans for its future. As mentioned before I would like to take a moment to thank everyone for being patient during this whole process, I hope that you found this helpful.

Root's team seems very serious about getting their products to market and, for the latest model, I am impressed. For example, I had no idea that the original design came completely redone, instead of coming in black with white trimming. That's nice though. Now that we know Root's name and the reason for it I think everyone wants to know what kind of customer experience they have. Unfortunately, Root doesn't share specifics, but in terms of a company I've seen, it's good enough.

Root's Home & Lifestyle magazine seems to reflect this, and it is interesting to see how little editing their product is. Yes, the magazine seems very professional, although the magazine itself isn't that bad. They're well-written and informative enough, but it seems that the editorial staff doesn't have time for that. Everything the magazine is about works well and every page has a brief summary of who it represents. Every headline has a basic description and so do its pictures.

It looks like they have done a lot of testing because I can see where I would definitely feel comfortable sending you my money if I was paying there. If you're interested in subscribing for free root for your smartphone or laptop you can sign up at https://root.co.uk and put in a credit card to start the contract or ask your bank for a virtual credit card.

Conclusion

For once, I'm starting to believe that they are worth paying for. It's not the latest models, it's the price, after all, I'm paying. Although Root Verizon Galaxy S5may offer slightly less than some of their competitors, it's still reasonable and something I'd consider if Apple was doing business here.
